Art of Empathy

What is Empathy?

It is the art of understanding and share the feelings of another person.

In simple language , it is fitting into some one else’s shoes and walking in them

OR

To fit into a size 8 when you are a size 10 —–>> well that is not impossible, you can fit into size 8 by losing few inches… all it requires is patience and determination but in case of feeling the same emotions like another person, we must have patience and love.

Some people are good with having sympathy but it is important to empathize. There is a difference between the two.

Sympathy is more of a feeling of compassion or sorrow for some one who is encountering it however empathy is to be at their place and feel the sadness or happiness. It’s more important to relate,imagine and truly understand the depth of someone’s emotions than being distant and keeping ourselves limited only till watching them and sitting to console them.

Empathy helps us to become a better person, it helps us to communicate well with others. It also helps us grow and keep our benevolence alive.

Always remember 2 things which will help you empathize better :

• always treat others the way you want others to treat you
• do not treat others the way you don’t want to be treated

The reason I wrote about empathy is that, it is one single thing which can help develop faith and trust in others, which can help you become a better human being, which can never make you do ill to others and which I follow religiously as a moral value. It has enlightened the spark of kindness in me and not causing any pain to any human or animal.

It is never a bad idea to be able to understand about how others feel and go through as everyone is facing a hard battle in their own life. It is a wonderful gesture and also a learning as we get to see things their way and learn how to deal with them.

So guys, awaken your empathetic side and let others know they are loved and not alone!!
